1. I don’t know anything about Nu Brand Flexxx, so why should I go out and purchase your album?

Saskilla: Because music as it stands is so crap and full of marketing schemes and plans. We are not a marketing scheme, we’ve been in the making for 4 years. The golden oldies who have been doing it for years like Mariah Carey aren’t doing it as well as they were so it’s all about hearing new artists, that’s why I would listen to us.

Boyadee: Nu Brand Flexxx is something fresh and new to your ear and we’re raw and rugged. If you like real good music from the heart and soul then you’d listen to us.

2. Can you explain your sense of style when it comes to fashion?

Likle P: We get up and fall into our wardrobes. There’s no direction we follow we just dress in what we like. One day you might see us in a shirt or waistcoat or an Eskimo hat.

Saskilla: We’ve got loads of fashion designer friends like VA-G and Av It as well who make us clothes for free.

3. Who is or shall I say, what is Nu Brand Flexxx, musically or creatively?

Saskilla: Nu Brand Flexxx is a group with Likle P, Boyadee, Striver and myself at the forefront. There are other members behind the scenes. Musically, we are whatever we feel on that day. We have a track called ‘De Pon’ which was made at 5am in the morning because a certain person drank too much Lucozade and Red Bull. We ended up recording the track out of hype, not because there was a point to prove. It’s about the buzz of being in that room at the time. Everyone vibed off the tune. It wasn’t premeditated. Now there’s kids over the country singing it. If we want to make an M.I.A style tune with mad tunes then we will.

4. How can all of you pursue your music career and college degrees at the same time, how does that work out?

Likle P: With great difficulty but if you know that certain things must be done then you just get on with it. There’s no two ways about it. You have to get the degree and do the music.

Boyadee: It also helps that the music side comes naturally to us. If we had to revise a musical dictionary it would double our work load but it’s not like that.

5. What would you change about the entertainment industry, if anything, to make it a more interesting one?

Boyadee: The manufacturing side to things. A lot of signed artists don’t get enough creative input when recording albums.

Saskilla: I would make a TV show like Big Brother where each artist gets evicted every week with the worst track. I think that would make hunger in the scene. The music sales would go up because everyone would lock into that. You would be able to put in new contestants into the house alongside artists already in music.
