Posted by bigced on August 27, 2008

Entertainment and Management Firm Czar Entertainment has announced 3 major releases in August, covering television, film and music. The powerhouse firm is behind ‘Luke’s Parental Advisory,’ the DVD Release of ‘Belly 2’ and the release of The Game’s ‘L.A.X’.

Luke’s Parental Advisory is a reality TV show based on the ’sexfamous’ and scandalous Luke Campbell, played against the backdrop of the glitz and glamour of America’s sexiest city- Miami.  The NY Times said of the show: “Luke’s Parental Advisory may become a guilty-pleasure classic”. Luke’s Parental Advisory premiered on August 4th, 2008 on VH1 and aired in a primetime lineup that included Diddy’s ‘I wanna work for Diddy.’  The CEO of Czar Entertainment, Jimmy Rosemond, shares Executive Producer credits on Luke’s Parental Advisory with Tone Boots and Bernard Griffin.

Belly 2 is a straight to DVD project and was executive co-produced by Jimmy Rosemond. The DVD was released on August 12th through Lions Gate Films and stars rapper The Game and Michael K. Williams from HBO’s ‘The Wire.’  “It’s imperative when doing delicate and inspiring projects such as Parental Advisory and Belly 2, that all of the involved parties from the network, the film distributors, the business partners and of course, the artists, all share the same level of enthusiasm and excitement for the end product” said Rosemond.

L.A.X. will be The Game’s third album and is destined to be another huge bi-coastal hit from the most talked about and controversial west coast rapper. L.A.X. will be released on August 26th and has already received much praise for the 2 singles already released from the album- ‘Game’s Pain’ with Keyshia Cole and ‘My Life’ with Lil Wayne.  L.A.X. will be Rosemond’s second executive produced album with The Game.

Hip Hop Pioneer ‘Pepa’ From Legendary Group Salt-N-Pepa Authors New Book

Posted by bigced on August 27, 2008

Pepa is the spiciest ingredient in the legendary rap group Salt-N-Pepa, and the outspoken star of VH1’s smash-hit reality show. She’s Sandy “Denton”–she’s never at a loss for words. Now in “Let’s Talk About Pep” (VH1/Pocket Books; September 2008), she bares all, telling her side of the story and leaving no detail unturned– with the true candor and raw emotion of someone who has been there, done that, and survived.

For the first time, Pepa talks about her troubled childhood, surviving abuse, her first encounters with Cheryl “Salt” James, her failed marriages and her escape from domestic abuse, her “breakup” with Salt and their eventual “reunion”, her triumphant comeback on the VH1 reality shows The Surreal Life, Fame Games, and The Salt-N-Pepa Show, and more.

This is the real Pepa–upfront, uncensored, unstoppable–and this is the memoir of a true pioneer, fighter, survivor, and inspiration to women everywhere. Written with New York Times bestselling author Karen Hunter, the book is filled with surprising insights, outrageous anecdotes, and celebrity cameos–including an introduction by Queen Latifah and an epilogue by Missy Elliott. “Let’s Talk About Pep” is the story of a pop culture icon whose remarkable life is every bit as captivating and provocative as her Grammy Award-winning music.

To accommodate the book, Pepa has launched her very own social network and online fan club at www.LetsTalkAboutPep.com. The site allows old school hip-hop fans to connect with each other, and stay up-to-par with her latest happenings. Users can join for free and interact with related news, blogs, forums, events, groups, photos, and video. The site is powered by Connect Platform, an exclusive service of Lee Moss Media.
