**Tech N9ne Prepares to Sell 1,000,000th Album Independently with Forthcoming “Killer” Album**

Posted by bigced on June 16, 2008

Tech N9ne will sell his one millionth album independently with the release of his forthcoming Killer album.  The double-disc release is due in stores July 1 and features guest appearances from platinum rappers Ice Cube, Scarface and Paul Wall.  An indication of the anticipation for Killer:  lead single “Everybody Move” has already enjoyed more than 215,000 plays on Tech N9ne’s myspace page, myspace.com/techn9ne.  Another Killer cut, “Drill Team,” has more than 145,000 plays.

Indeed, in a music industry plagued by declining sales, Tech N9ne remains one of the best-selling independent artists of any genre.  Tech N9ne’s last studio album, Everready (The Religion), has sold more than 145,000 copies since its November 2006 release.  Tech N9ne’s first collaborative album, 2007’s Tech N9ne Collabos Misery Loves Kompany, has already SoundScanned more than 67,000 copies.

2008 has already been a banner year for Tech N9ne.  In March, Tech N9ne embarked upon the Fire And Ice 2008 tour with Paul Wall, which hit more than 50 cities across North America.  In April, Tech N9ne’s second DVD, The Psychumentary, arrived in stores.  The hour-plus DVD follows Tech N9ne during a hectic day in his native Kansas City and features exclusive interviews with the Kottonmouth Kings, Cool Nutz and Strange Music artists Krizz Kaliko, Skatterman & Snug Brim, Kutt Calhoun and Prozak, as well as Tech N9ne’s wife, among others.

Later this year, Tech N9ne will headline both the Strange Noize 2008 Tour and the Strictly Strange Tour.

Sonny Cash Joins The “Rock The Vote” Tour!

Posted by bigced on June 16, 2008

Sonny Cash is the latest artist to join the “Rock The Vote” Tour traveling and performing throughout the Midwest this fall.  Sonny joins the star studded line-up of entertainers to promote voter registration among people through music.  Sonny is promoting his new single, “Dat Girl Fine” and launching his Myspace Page, www/Myspace.com/sonnycashmusic.

Dates venues of the tour so far include:

Sept. 5th, Quicken Arena-Cleveland, OH.

Sept. 12th, Kemper Arena-Kansas City, MO.

Sept. 26th, Rupp Arena-Lexington, KY.

Oct. 7th, Sommet Center-Nashville, TN.

Oct. 11th, Target Center-Minneapolis, MN.

Oct. 19th, Bradley Center-Milwaukee, WI.

Nov.2nd, Wells Fargo Arena-Des Moines, IA

Sonny Cash has more than enough paper to live up to his name and a lot of love for hip hop.  He got his first record deal at the tender age of 19 and he’s here to prove that he’s destined to take over the rap game.  His new single is “Dat Girl Fine” and it’s guaranteed to be the anthem of the summer!

Sonny Cash embodies that elusive “it factor” and his natural charisma and startling good looks landed him a modeling contract with two of the biggest names in the fashion industry, Ford Models and Zoli.  He was raised on a steady diet of hip hop and rap music for as long as he can remember Sonny’s life was bright with opportunities; he was offered basketball scholarships and more modeling contracts after school but he decided to leave all of that behind for the drama of the streets.  However, he quickly gave up his colorful past when he started to see friends pass away and family members get sent away.  Sonny decided to return to his first love, music.  Sonny’s uncle, Joe “Bean” Esposito, who sang “Heaven Knows” with Donna Summer, “You’re the Best” in the Karate Kid, wrote “Bad Girls” and was nominated for a Grammy for Flashdance, Staying Alive and “Piano in the Dark” with Brenda Russell, scheduled a meeting for him with Select Records. The ill fated label was responsible for all of Kid N Plays hits, but the label folded almost as soon as the ink on Sonny’s contract was dry.  However, Select still had time to send him on a college tour, and other shows, opening for N.O.R.E., Big Pun, etc.

It hasn’t always been easy for Sonny as an MC.  One label actually told him they didn’t feel comfortable signing a white rapper and that taught Sonny his first lesson, “When you’re dope you’re dope.  When I can put on my headphones and get taken to another place that’s what I want to do with my music.”  His music reflects his life and every verse expresses his emotions and provides a little window into Sonny Cash’s world.  “Fast Trip” is a song about his Father and about people wheeling and dealing in the streets.  “Dat Chick Fine” is self-explanatory; “Hip Hop” is all about Sonny’s love affair with hip hop.

Sonny Cash is going to prove all of the doubters wrong and give all of the believers something to be proud of when his single “Dat Chick Fine” blows up this summer!

THE “WRIGHT-ING’S” ON THE WALL FOR OSCAR DE LA HOYA

Posted by bigced on June 16, 2008

History is in the making as the boxing scene is buzzing about the recent retirement of Floyd Mayweather and its effect on the Oscar De La Hoya.  As De La Hoya eagerly searches for a worthy opponent, he will find one in former Middleweight champion, Ronald “Winky” Wright, of whom he’s been avoiding for years.  Upon hearing the news, Wright exclaims, “It’s destiny… Floyd retired, nobody cares to fight Oscar, but here I am.  He can’t run from me any more.”

De La Hoya has yet to concede to Wright’s call; however, Wright plans to aggressively pursue De La Hoya.  “I’m not giving up…” Wright says, “If he thinks I’m going to fall back and let it go – he’s wrong.  He must have forgotten who I am.  I’m the guy who’s fought around the world to prove I’m the best pound for pound fighter.  And after I pound Oscar, the world will see what I’ve been telling them my whole career:  that I am the greatest.”

While Wright’s comments may raise eyebrows due to his hiatus from the ring due to his recovery period and alleged outstanding financial requests, he assures that this fight can be a reality. He states, “See, you can’t get caught up in the hype.  I can and will do everything in my power to make this fight happen.  I’ve been dying to get at Oscar for years, but he’s just been too scared.  He, along with the rest of the world, may think the fight won’t happen because I’ve been out of the ring or want too much money, but that’s not true.”

Wright continues to clear up the confusion and speculation, adding why Oscar needs to step up to the plate.  “What the media won’t tell you is that I’ve always had to get the short end of the stick in order to make fights happen.”  He says.  “I took a pay cut, so these fights could happen.  So now that I’m asking for what I’m worth I supposedly want ‘too much money’? Everyone knows a Wright – De La Hoya fight is a big ticket, so give me my justice. I’ve worked for it and I deserve it.  He knows what this fight can do for him too. He knows he can really get paid, so why keep running? It’s about time that the best get back to fighting the best in boxing.  No more warm up fights.  Just get in the ring with me and go for twelve rounds.  Just do it.”

No official discussions have been made, but Wright’s camp is ready, willing and able.  Damian Ramirez, Wright’s advisor agrees with Wright.  He says, “It’s about time.  This needs to happen.  Not just for Winky, but for boxing.  Everyone’s hungry for a fight like this.”

About Ronald “Winky” Wright

Ronald Winky Wright is one of boxing’s most prolific southpaws of the 21st century.  The Washington, DC native started his career at the age of 18-years old, fighting against international contenders in, France, South Africa, Germany and England.  His claim to fame and US recognition came upon his two victories against “Sugar” Shane Mosely and his classic bout against Felix “Tito” Trinidad, which forced Trinidad into retirement.  Wright cemented his status as one of the best pound for pound fighters nationally and internationally with these victories.

Prodigy Releases “The Life” Video in Spanish

Posted by bigced on June 16, 2008

H.N.I.C. PT. 2: THE DVD COLLECTION INSTORES JULY 8TH.

Guru & SolarNEW YORK (June 11, 2008) – After releasing a Spanish version of “ABC,” as a bonus song on his new album, H.N.I.C. Pt. 2, Prodigy and label, Voxonic Music in association with AAO Music/Reality, will release the Spanish language video for the hit single “The Life,” using Voxonic’s Voice Conversion Technology.  Remixed by Steve Sola and Arie Deutsch for Plain Truth Ent as well as Voxonic Inc respectively “The Life Voxonic Spanish Version” will be included on H.N.I.C. Pt. 2:  The DVD Collection which drops July 8th.

Similar voice-recognition technology has been used to improve foreign relations and to expand the global reach of music.  The software produced by Voxonic can convert any bit of recorded text (vocals and lyrics) into multiple languages.  Through Voxonic technology, Spanish speaking fans will be able to hear Prodigy’s music in his own voice in their own language.

Voxonic President, Arie Deutsch, has high hopes for its application, both in the entertainment industry and beyond. “It was my vision years ago to have music in an artists voice converted into different languages. Hip-hop is a huge internationally and you have non-English speaking people around the world saying the words and not understanding them. Our new technology will change that. Now they’ll be able to hear the artist in their native tongue,” states Deutsch. “We launched the Spanish version first because of the number of fans Prodigy has in the Latino community.  Music is about innovation and I believe this technology will have a great impact on it. I want to thank Steve Sola as well as Eduardo “Creon” Nororis for taking my idea and making it a reality.”

Prodigy was selected as the first hip-hop artist translated because of his global appeal. One-half of the platinum-selling duo Mobb Deep, Prodigy boasts a loyal international fan base thanks to the group’s performances overseas since 1995. “I’ve been traveling and touring overseas and it’s incredible to see people reciting the verses to our rhymes, but it’s strange that when we meet them outside of the venue, they can’t speak English.  The prospect of having fans understand what I’m saying and repeat it in their language drew me to this technology. Now, fans will understand more than just the beat or the rhythm. They’ll understand what I’m saying and relate to it.”

Steve Sola CEO of Plain Truth Entertainment, as well as Executive producer of HNIC Pt. 2, “I have been an engineer, mixer, and producer for 15 years and have worked with Prodigy his whole careeer so I know the dynamics of his voice.  Hearing Prodigy’s music converted into Spanish utilizing the Voxonic software is a monumental achievement. The value of this software is truly amazing.”

Prodigy will release a DVD version of H.N.I.C. Pt. 2 on July 8th. The DVD entitled H.N.I.C. Pt. 2:  The DVD Collection featuring never before footage of Prodigy taken before he began serving his term and videos for every song on the album.
