Formed in 2003 (though their ties began during their days as high school classmates) the group originally consisted of Sinister Six, Bluff, Element, Skandalous Scoobs and Aneek. After the release of their 2004 debut, “L.A. State of Mind,” Six found himself incarcerated, but the movement persisted through Custom Made’s renowned “Street Cinema” mixtape series. 2006 saw Custom Made inking with indie powerhouse Babygrande Records and the debut offering “Sidewalk Mindtalk: The Best of The Custom Made Mixtapes,” a collection of gems from their prolific mixtape series, garnered critical raves within the independent circuit. Most recently, Custom Made has garnered support from LA’s renowned mixtape DJ DJ Warrior as well as recently appearing on LA’s Power 106 Wake Up Show (link below). Seminal hip-hop brand Rawkus recently bestowed upon Custom Made Rawkus Next 50 honors, designating the group/collective amongst the best and brightest developing acts in the independent scene.
