The Funky Bunch Returns As THE FUNK Bs w/New CD & Tour This Summer!

Posted by bigced on May 5, 2008

When talented MARKY MARK & THE FUNKY BUNCH emerged into prominence in the 1990’s through the introduction of founder and NEW KID ON THE BLOCK’S Donnie Wahlberg, the creative music group were stylists with immediate recognizable vocals, lyrical delivery and hot tracks! At the height of the Hip Hop music scene, their artistry set our imaginations astir and our souls aflame with their #1 Hit Song, GOOD VIBRATIONS. Life after Platinum (The Funky Bunch’s album achieved double platinum status) for many recording artists meant that their best days were behind them. But for THE FUNKY BUNCH, now emerging as the cultivated ensemble of THE FUNK Bs, life continues to be exciting with the release of their upcoming summer CD, STILL STANDING (Suave Dawg Records/Toxicvibes.com) and performing “live” for US and Canadian Tour dates. The incredible debut single, “She Said” (written by Scott Ross, Chad Penne, Michael Wilder and Producer-D Sharpe) from the forthcoming CD will ship to the music marketplace in the US, Canada and Germany on May 20, 2008.

Signed to the Canadian-based music label, Suave Dawg Records/Toxicvibes.com, with returning original members, Scott “Great Scott” Ross, Hector “HB” Barros, Terry “DJ -T” Yancy, along with newest members, Jaime “Avalanche” Haage, Lola “LB” Frazier, Chad “Dragon” Penney ,Dawayne “DJ Rareform” Branco and Michael “Yung Piff” (Da Prince) Wilder have evolved into the eclectic Boston-based THE FUNK Bs.

“Hector, Terry, and I have had the opportunity to do many wonderful things in and outside of the music industry since the days of ‘Good Vibrations.’ We always knew that we would do another musical venture together. This year it felt like it was the right time to return. The music on our new CD represents the best in world music and the newest members add a great sound and new look to our product!” says FBs member Scott Ross.

“We are thrilled to be working with such a successful music group. Their sound continues to permeate the music industry today. Their upcoming new CD is a monster! We expect The Funk Bs and their music to become another ground-breaking album for this decade” says Glen Prendergast, CEO of Suave Dawg Records/Toxicvibes.com.

Throughout the years, The Funky Bunch’s musical mission has remained constant—to deliver the best in lyrical hip hop, soul-stirring vocals and party-making tracks that represent the group to its fullest! That vision is fully realized on THE FUNK Bs’ CD, STILL STANDING, a sensational 10-song collection that is scheduled for release August 2008. The upcoming debut single, “She Said”(available for download at www.toxicvibes.com only) will top the charts by summer’s end and stand the test of time by being played on a multi-format radio play lists all over the world for the next year!

According to Prendergast, an aggressive promotional street and club campaign will be implemented in key cities in the US, starting with their home market Boston. To celebrate the release of their new CD, the 8-member ensemble is scheduled to bring their powerful and solid “live” show for 10 concert dates in Canada, followed by a multi-city tour in the US (rumored possibly w/New Kids On The Block Tour Schedule) this summer.

Fans of The Funky Bunch will be able to Pre-order the CD from www.toxicvibes.com (exclusive to the site) at $8.95USD plus shipping.
