Hip-Hop and Sports are uniting April 25-26th when San Diego Chargers Pro-Bowler, Offensive Lineman, Marcus McNeill hosts a celebrity studded charity weekend in Atlanta, GA. Pro Bowler Marcus McNeill will host his 1st annual Charity Weekend April 25-26th. McNeill who is a native of Atlanta is giving back to the very community that gave to him as a youth and groomed him for his NFL success. To kick off the weekend festivities, Friday morning April 25th, McNeill will present a charitable donation to his alma mater Cedar Grove high school, where his father coached him as a youth and continues to coach today.
The celebrity charity weekend will include: Friday Night Light’s – a celebrity mixer at the W hotel, the Players Bowl, a charity bowling event at 300 Atlanta and end with a party at the Atlanta hotspot Dreamz Nightclub. All activities during the celebrity filled weekend will benefit the Mack’s Miracle’s Foundation. McNeill started this foundation with an awareness of the effects of childhood obesity, as it has affected those close to him. His goal is to educate youth on leading a healthy lifestyle and to fight childhood obesity. McNeill plans to launch his Mack’s Miracle Camp, for children this summer in Atlanta, GA. The camp will feature many of McNeill’s athlete friends and provide a fitness workshop and healthy snacks for the Atlanta area youth who attend. In addition to the celebrity athletes helping facilitate the camp, McNeill’s camps will also feature well known hip-hop artists performing at the conclusion of the camp.
The celebrity charity weekend event will feature several top athletes and entertainers, who are joining forces with McNeill for a great cause. About Marcus McNeill
At age 24, 6’8 and 330 pounds, Marcus McNeill is a second year starter with the San Diego Chargers. McNeill was selected as a starter at the Pro Bowl two years in a row, 2007 and 2008. His Pro Bowl selections were accompanied by several All-Pro and All-Rookie honors. McNeill has been proclaimed by Commentator Len Pasquarelli of ESPN as “one of the elite left tackles” in the NFL. McNeill finished 4th in voting for the 2007 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, a remarkable finish for an offensive lineman. About the Mack’s Miracle’s Foundation
Marcus McNeill created the Mack’s Miracle’s Foundation in 2007 to improve the lives of children by educating them on leading a healthy lifestyle and fighting obesity. The foundation is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization. Through the foundation Mack’s Miracle’s hopes to implement programs that will encourage children to fight obesity through fitness and healthily eating.
