Soul Diggaz Sizzle With Timbaland, Diddy, Bow Wow & Omarion, Cheri Dennis & More

Posted by bigced on February 9, 2008

Since kicking off their career with powerhouse artists like Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliott, the production team Soul Diggaz has swiftly become a dynamic part of today’s popular music. They are currently developing new artists through their own imprint deal with Timbaland’s Mosely Music, and they are enjoying chart success with Bow Wow & Omarion’s latest single “Hey Baby (Jump Off)” from the Face Off album, and the hot new single “Portrait Of Love” for Bad Boy songstress Cheri Dennis.

Additionally, Soul Diggaz were enlisted by Diddy to work on albums for all three of the groups in MTV’s Making The Band 4 series – Danity Kane, Day 26 and Donnie, and they just landed Donnie’s first single entitled “Take You There.”

Although they initially started as a duo, brothers K-Mack and Bless joined with songwriter Corte’ Ellis to create their own production one-stop for hit-seeking artists. In just the past five years, Soul Diggaz have worked on songs for the likes of Beyonce’, Keyshia Cole, Ashlee Simpson, Fantasia and Britney Spears.

They have also done many special projects including the Madonna and Missy Elliott Gap commercial, Beyonce’s L’oreal commercial, the theme song for the UPN show Eve and more.

After successful production deals with Mary J. Blige’s MJB Entertainment and Missy Elliott’s production company, Soul Diggaz landed their own imprint deal with Timbaland’s Mosely Music. They are currently developing Southern Hip Hop artist Izza Kizza, and the project promises to bring a futuristic creativity.

“You can describe Izza Kizza as Hip Hop/Pop, because he is not your typical Southern rapper with a bounce swag,” explains K-Mack. “He has more of a pop appeal like Andre 3000, Ludacris and Missy. We’re not doing the average rap records – we are doing more records catered to the left. Something that even the hipster crowds can vibe to, records that you have to listen to 3-4 times so you can really understand where he is coming from.”

In coming months, Soul Diggaz will be at the forefront of pop music with their work. In addition to Izza Kizza and the Making The Band 4 projects, they are also developing Corte’ Ellis’ debut album.

“We all look at it as fun,” says K-Mack. “Awards are nice, but I think it is the ability to stay relevant that really defines the success of a producer. Our unique style and the diversity of records that we make gives us an opportunity for true longevity in music.”

RAPPER RICK ROSS TO RELEASE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DOCUMENTARY—–M.I.YAYO

Posted by bigced on February 9, 2008

Budding entrepreneur, music industry trend-setter, successful Platinum rapper and Executive Producer, Rick Ross (Def Jam/Slip N’ Slide) is set to release his highly-anticipated documentary, “M. I.Yayo” on March 25th 2008, two weeks following the release of  his sophomore effort, “Trilla,” which is also due in stores on March 11th 2008.

M.I.Yayo will be distributed through Boston-based Traffic Entertainment. The ‘masterpiece,’ is a gripping, true account of street life in Miami, counting down the 10 most notorious druglords in Miami’s controversial history. The  documentary is directed by veteran, Chris Larceny, who compares M.I.Yayo  to “Cocaine Cowboys,” regarding its concept, however, “M.I.Yayo,” takes a courageous delve, deep into the minds and actions of those at question. The movie documents how and why the state of Miami’s  ’street’ economy flourished in a matter of  years– detailing what has become of it now.

Rick Ross states, “When I was touring in Europe with “Port of Miami,” the media question of the day was, “What is the ‘other side of the bridge?’” People all over the world want to know about this side of Miami, I give it to them in M.I.Yayo.” He goes on to say, “It is incredibly shocking, and many think Miami is South Beach, that’s it. The world wants to know the real deal and this is it with M.I.Yayo.”

M.I.Yayo illustrates how billions in drug money was made and distributed in the streets in the early 80’s and 90’s in Miami’s inner cities. It pulls no punches- revealing true accounts, news footage, interviews with the families, associates  of, and the accused; while deals gone bad, drug trafficking and violence, underscores Miami’s ‘other side of the bridge.’ M.I.Yayo, in no way glorifies the type of lifestyle it portrays; it does however give a true rendering of Miami’s street life with gritty, factual footage that contributes to the infrastructure of the streets of Miami.

Rick Ross considers this ground-breaking documentary as the visual soundtrack to his “Port of Miami” hit records “Hustlin,” and “White House,” the rapper says, “M.I.Yayo,” is truly ground breaking for the Scarface generation.”

Traffic Entertainment President Joseph Mansfield is confident that this partnership will result in tremendous exposure and sales for both parties. He states, “Many distributors were reluctant to take a chance on a project from a rap artist that is not music related. I have full confidence that this project can carry itself via the content, it is powerful, and that is why Traffic Entertainment took the risk, now the industry will see that the higher risk the bigger the reward.”

Rick Ross will host a number of screenings for M.I.Yayo in select cities throughout the country and the documentary will be distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada and will also be available for purchase all major music and video retailers, online via iTunes and at www.maybachmusicgroup.com on March 25th 2008.
