KATHERINE HEIGL NAMED MOST DESIRABLE WOMAN OF 2008 BY ASKMEN.COM READERS

AskMen.com, the Internet’s top men’s lifestyle site, today unveiled its 8th annual list of the “Top 99 Most Desirable Women.” AskMen.com readers cast more than five million votes to rank the women who best embody all the qualities of an ideal girlfriend or wife. Katherine Heigl, who dominated both small and big screens over the past year, took home top honors as the Most Desirable Woman of 2008. Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio was the runner-up and actress Kate Beckinsale rounded out the top three. The remaining top ten encompass a slew of actresses – including Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel – while singer Rihanna, and supermodels Marisa Miller and Adriana Lima complete the top ten. “I think I probably climbed in the ratings because I married Tony Parker. So people think, “Cool! Sports guy!!” All of that is really flattering and fun. Someone asked me, ‘How does it feel to be called sexy and make all these lists?’ And I said, ‘Well, I guess it’s better than the alternate lists – the not-so-hot of the year!’ So I’d rather make those lists.”

Unlike other lists, the “Top 99 Most Desirable Women” challenges AskMen.com readers to choose women from the worlds of music, fashion and entertainment that they feel best represent the full range of the qualities that today’s man desires most in a modern female. Every year, voters from all over the world are asked to look beyond sex appeal and beauty to pick women who have the characteristics they value in a potential companion, like intelligence, humor, charisma and ambition. The result is a list far more telling than the common “Most Sexy” or “Most Beautiful” lists published elsewhere.
